A step-change in health research?

In December 2006 Sir David Cooksey’s review on health research funding reported its recommendations for a new institutional structure to administrate the £1.3bn unified healthcare research fund created by the Chancellor. The fund brings  together (but  does not merge) the research and development activities of the Medical Research Council and recently ring fenced NHS R&D funding.
