The Planning Bill is a response by the government to business concerns about barriers to sustainable growth and economic development. In order to deliver major infrastructure projects such as wind farms, nuclear power stations, railways, airports, gas and water pipelines, waste facilities and ports, the process of planning approval needs to be streamlined. On this at least there seems to be consensus; not perhaps surprising given that there are 1.4GW of wind farms awaiting approval current…
